Концерт на Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp за 35 години Стотројка
На 1 октомври (четврток) пред Домот на Армијата во Скопје пристигнува Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp, еден од најживописните и најнепредвидливите состави на современата швајцарска сцена.
Овој семоќен афро-дада-панк оркестар во постојана трансформација е основан во Женева во 2006 година од басистот и композитор Vincent Bertholet. Токму оваа година одбележуваат 20 години постоење. Во текот на овие две децении, низ повеќе варијации на составот и со шест албуми зад себе, Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp изградија свој музички свет во кој африканската полиритмија, highlife, free jazz, пост-панк, краутрок, и авангардната импровизација коегзистираат без потреба од јасни граници.
Името на оркестарот е инспирирано од големите африкански состави на 20 век, меѓу кои и Tout Puissant Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou, додека Marcel Duchamp упатува кон револуционерниот француски уметник и неговиот радикален однос кон уметноста, формата и конвенциите. Некаде меѓу двете се наоѓа и музиката на овој необичен колектив.
На сцена, составот брои 12 музичари: бас, тапани и перкусии, гитари, маримби, виолина, виолончело, дувачки инструменти и повеќе гласови. Големината на бендот создава густ и слоевит звук, во кој повторливите ритми постепено се наталожуваат, мелодиите се разминуваат и повторно се среќаваат, а музиката постојано се движи меѓу дисциплина и импровизација. Во живо, овој еластичен колектив го покажува своето вистинско лице. Ритми што не може да се игнорираат, мелодии што кружат, растат и експлодираат во лавина од хармонии, бои и текстури, со остри, надреални и поетични текстови. Музички коктел што без предупредување те тера да се движиш, да почувствуваш и да размислиш.
Во Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp велат дека нивниот бенд е пред сè сила на колективот: поединечните изведувачи се важни, но најважна е музиката.

Concert by Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp for Kanal 103’s 35th Anniversary
On October 1 (Thursday), Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp, one of the most vibrant and unpredictable acts on the contemporary Swiss scene, arrives in front of the Army House in Skopje.
This mighty Afro-Dada-punk orchestra, in a constant state of transformation, was founded in Geneva in 2006 by bassist and composer Vincent Bertholet. This year, they are celebrating 20 years of existence. Over the course of two decades, through numerous lineup changes and with six albums behind them, Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp have built their own musical world, where African polyrhythms, highlife, free jazz, post-punk, krautrock, and avant-garde improvisation coexist without the need for clear boundaries.
The orchestra’s name was inspired by the great African ensembles of the 20th century, including Tout Puissant Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou, while Marcel Duchamp refers to the revolutionary French artist and his radical approach to art, form, and conventions. Somewhere between the two lies the music of this unusual collective.
On stage, the ensemble consists of 12 musicians: bass, drums and percussion, guitars, marimbas, violin, cello, wind instruments, and multiple vocalists. The size of the band creates a dense, layered sound in which repeating rhythms gradually build, melodies diverge and come together again, and the music constantly moves between discipline and improvisation. Live, this flexible collective reveals its true character. Rhythms that cannot be ignored, melodies that circle, grow, and explode into an avalanche of harmonies, colors, and textures, accompanied by sharp, surreal, and poetic lyrics. A musical cocktail that, without warning, makes you move, feel, and think.
The members of Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp say that their band is, above all, a force of the collective: individual performers are important, but the music itself is what matters most.
